Maths Revision #2⭐πŸ“±πŸ’―

For maths revision #2 I worked these following questions, with a strategy of how I did so.

Sally used ⅔ of a cup of flour to make 6 cupcakes. How much flour will she need to make 24 cupcakes?
6 & 24 is in relation to 6 x 4 = 24. So that means ⅔ x 4 = 8/12 - 4/6 - ⅔ or  12/3 which is 4!

Sione took $584 out of his bank account. That was ¼ of his money. How much money did he have in the beginning? 2336
¼ of his money = $584 x 4 = $2336

Tim ran 0.87 kilometres to his nana’s house then ran another 1.8 kilometres to his cousin’s house. How many kilometres did he run? 2.67
0.87 + 1.8 = 2.67. 1.8 + 0.8 = 2.6 + 0.07 = 2.67

It takes 5 hours to drive to Kerikeri in peak traffic and 4.5 hours during normal traffic. If we leave at 9 am during normal traffic what time will we arrive.
9 am + 4.5hrs (240 mins & 30mins)
9 + 4 = 13 + .5 = 13.5 which also is 1:30pm
They will arrive at 1:30pm
Convert these times to 24 hour times
9 am
09:00
9.15 pm
21:15
1.37 pm
13:37
1.10 am
01:10
5.30 pm
17:30
11.20 pm
23:20

Peter needed to buy 75 bottles of water. They came in packs of 5. How many packs will be need to buy?
15
75 divided by 5 = 15. 5 x 10 = 50. 5 x 5 = 25. 50 + 25 = 75
4-2X5 =
6
(2 x 5 = 10) (10 - 4 = 6)

What is the average of these numbers? 4, 6, 7, 3
4 + 6 + 7 + 3 = 20
20 divided by 4 = 5
The average of these numbers = 5

BarbadosπŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ”₯✨

Barbados is the country that room 7 of Glenbrae School is studying about. I have done some research about Barbados and found a lot, and if you know the legendary Rihanna, this is where she comes from!

Basic Facts about Barbados
- Barbados is completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean!
- Is the birthplace of Rihanna, who moved from Barbados to the United States (as mentioned).
- The people of Barbados are called Barbadians!
- The name of the country, “Barbados,” is derived from “the Bearded Fig Trees.”
- Barbados is one of the most popular and preferred tourist destinations in the Caribbean.
- Barbados exports more than BBD $57 million of rum each year.
- Barbados’ smallest city–Oistins–is historically known as a fishing town.

Interesting Links about Barbados and credits!

As our class was inquiring into Barbados, we looked at the flag (as shown below) and thought it unlike, odd to have a trident then we further researched to find out that the blue represents the sea and sky of Barbados. While gold represents the sand of the island's beaches. The symbol at the center of the flag represents the Trident of the mythical sea god, Neptune - the shaft of the trident is broken symbolizing Barbados' break from Britain!

Later on in the year, Room 7 has a dance that is in progress, but will be completed soon, here is a video of how some Barbados dancers dance! click here!

Maths Revision⭐πŸ“±πŸ’―

For maths, we have maths revision! Here are my explanations of these problems, please correct me if I am wrong!

Tom had 36 boxes of oranges. Each box has 7 oranges in it. How many oranges does he have altogether.
36 x 7 =
30 x 7 = 210 + 6 x 7 = 42 = (210 + 42 = 252)
Susan makes 1 litre of juice with ⅕ of a Raro sachet. She needed to make 17 litres of juice. How many sachets does she need?
⅕ = 1L. 1 = 5L. 3=15L because 3 whole pkts = 15L(⅕ = 1L). 3 ⅖ sachets is needed.
Daniel walked 3.7 kilometres on Sunday and another 2.9 kilometres on Monday. How many kilometres did he walk?
3.7 + 2.9 = 6.6. 3 + 2 = 5, .7 + .9 = 1.6. 5 + 1.6 = 6.6
Joseph had 672 songs on his ipod then deleted some. He now has 388 songs left. How many songs did he delete?
672 - 388 = 284

200 + 84 = 284
Catarina took $58 dollars from her bank account. She now has $387. How much did she have in the beginning?
58 + 287 = 345

Glenbrae School throwbacks!😭πŸ˜ͺπŸ’–☮

From 5 to 13 years of age, I have spent an entire 8 years at Glenbrae School, it truly has been a privilege and I am quite certain I am going to make another post about this but moving on, I have learnt new things, developed new skills and so much more!

- I learnt how to properly strategize and structure my maths and from the age of 7, I was accelerating to new levels. I also learnt how to read and pronounce words, as well as spell them. For writing, at first I was terrific but I then realised I wasn't as good as it thought!
- I learnt how to act at certain times, how to talk respectfully, approach new learning areas and much more, for example, meeting new friends!

During my previous years at GBS and many to still come, we were introduced to technology, where we could take videos and photos. Here are a few images of some of my fellow lifelong friends that I have connected with! (in other words, major throwbacks!)

These photos are really unique to me because they represent friends, learning, care and much more!
